Skiing down Life's steep slope



I just came back from the Poconos Mountains where I braved the cold, slippery slopes and learned how to ski. I fell countless times, feeling embarrassed at how uncoordinated my body was. Even the small kids could ski better than me! An American dad told his little son, "If you don't fall, it means you're not trying hard enough."How apt that expression was! I always tried very hard in everything I do and sometimes fell hard too...

As I lie on the snow, gazing at the brightly lit slopes on a breezy winter night, a quiet sadness overcame me... I took out my gloves and looked at my bleeding fingers but they paled in comparison to my bleeding heart...
